We’re working with Sydney Water to deliver the Thompsons Creek Stage 1 - South project, part of a program of new wastewater infrastructure to support Western Sydney’s rapid growth.

Our scope of work includes the trenchless construction of a 3.4 km long, 550-650 mm diameter new gravity sewer line, along with associated maintenance holes and ventilation shafts. We responsible for all access clearing and site restoration.

We're using a micro-tunnel boring machine (micro-TBM) to deliver the pipeline at a depth of up to 12 metres below the surface. The pipeline material is Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP).

To enable the micro-TBM drilling operations, 24 temporary shafts will be constructed, with varying depths of 8 to 12 metres, using a combination of piling and temporary shoring techniques.

Following pipeline completion, 23 permanent manhole structures of varying complexities will be constructed out of the temporary shafts using in-situ and precast segments – providing Sydney Water with critical inspection assets for future operation of the wastewater network.

The pipeline alignment crosses a mixture of Liverpool City Council land, private suburban blocks and pastoral lands.
